Bitter Tiny Iraqi Crumbs

Once and for all, lets leave the bullshit and the empty slogans of "No Kurds, no Arabs, No Shia's No Sunnis, we are all Iraqis" behind and admit one thing. IRAQ with all its factions is NOT UNITED. Lets not fool ourselves nor the world,OK...This Kurdish/turkish issue is soley a Kurdish issue. THEY HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. Yes, you know why???Because the Kurds never liked us Arabs. NEVER. Im sorry if Im offending anyone, but the truth has to be said. The hatred that the Kurds have against us, is far more than the hatred of this Sunni/Shia dilemma. YES. I dont give a damn shit anymore. Lets not pretend that everyone is so lovey dovey. The Kurds always wanted their independence from the Arabs, ALWAYS.

Go to any Kurdish forum, and see the hatred towards the arabs. Man they tear us apart all the time. They think they are superior to us...Lol, makes me laugh. One day, they want everything, Kirkuk, the NOrth, the Oil, and the next day, they cry for help. I cant stand such double faced people. I have very good friends that are Kurdish, and although we are civil to each other, Ive had alot of arguements about the situation in Iraq. And they say it out loud, we want to be independent, we want our own nation. Well, FINE THEN HAVE YOUR OWN NATION, but Kirkuk stays. What do you say to that?

With the Turkish offensive, which Im totally against, I think the Kurds are better equipped to deal with that themselves. We have our own "internal" problems that we need to solve. For what have THEY done for us? The peshmerga's came to assist supposedly in this security plan because again supposedly they are a neutral force, but infact they caused havoc. Their loyalty was never with Iraq as a nation. NEVER. Their loyalty was always with their own people, the Kurdish people. Im sure IM gonna get nasty comments, but I dont give a damn shit anymore. Someone has to say it. Someone has to say the truth. Im sure there are many who agree with me though.

But I have to admit, putting all that aside, I have alot of respect for the Kurds. Yes I do for the reasons Im about to give. One, they managed to put aside all their differences and unite against the enemy. Something, we Iraqi arabs couldnt even TRY to do. So I raise my hat to them. Second, they know exactly what they want and how to achieve it. Unlike us, everyone is pulling from all directions. The Kurds are smart people, very business like. They have ambitions and they are well on their way to achieve them. As for us, our ambitions are based on religeous needs. One group wants a Mulla type nation, and another group wants a stone age era with strict Islamic laws. Oh and lets not forget the other group who just doesnt want a nation full stop but instead a land turned morgue filled with Iraqi corpses.

The Kurds have their own flags, their own language, their own traditions. They are a completely seperate people than us. I mean can you believe the fact that an Iraqi Arab is NOT ALLOWED to enter their border unless a kurd sponsors him??? Did you know that?Thats why, all those displaced Iraqis who were driven from their homes because of the violence didnt go to the North. Only the ones who had contacts managed but the rest were forced to leave the country and seek shelter in Syria, Jordan etc..How sad is that. How sad, that you cant even seek shelter in your own country!!!

Im gonna leave it at that. I may be biased for Im an Iraqi. A true Iraqi. I have no hidden agenda. I have no need for power. I hope that the Iraqi Arabs will come to their senses once and for all and learn from the Kurdish people. Learn how to Unite. How to Unite and take care of their own people. Again I say, lets not fool ourselves anymore. Iraq has become a divided nation. Maybe, maybe dividing it is the best solution. The best solution for now. I say these words with great pain, but the Good Iraq is long gone. My parents Iraq is no more. What we have now is the leftovers...The leftovers of all these fatal wars and selfish narcistic leaders. Iraq, that once delicious cake on a diamond studded plate which everyone wanted a piece from, is now nothing but crumbs. Bitter Tiny Iraqi Crumbs...

NIW, Eadich Mubarak first although it did not seem to be a good one for you. Nor was it for me if that helps. Anyway, back to your posting, I wholeheartedly agree with your take on the Kurdish hypocrisy (double faced as you say). I think they were trying to outsmart the Turks and were pulling some strings in the South of Turkey to see how far can they push for independence and they got their well deserved response. So far, Kurds have not spared an effort to remind the central government of Iraq and the Iraqi people that they are not part of Iraq and they handle their own issues in an independent manner (latest being the signing of oil contracts with multi-national companies without the blessing of the central government in Baghdad plus their strong support for the latest so called non-binding resolution of the Congress). They have brought hundreds of thousands of Kurds from neighboring countries and Europe to Iraq, they gave them Iraqi passports (remember the scandal of the Iraqi embassy in Sweden issuing passports to non-Iraqis a few months ago which was investigated by the Swedish authorities and suddenly a visit from Hoshiar Zebari to there and have no heard since about it. They "resolved the issue" by the looks of it. You can Google it if you have not heard of that) they are pushing these "new Iraqis" to Kirkuk for the referendum as we all know so include Kirkuk into Kurdistan which as far as it goes was the price the Shiite Arabs were ready to pay in order to maintain an upper hand in the political process (hence we have this clause in the constitution that covers that). They are smart in pursuing a special status for themselves but historically, they have done so by betraying the central government at times of crisis in a consistent extortionary way (they have perfected it over time!).

From their own point of view, if they get Kirkuk, they might have a shot at it! But even if the current government or political deadlock gives them this opportunity and they will take for sure, I think next generation Arab Iraqis will get things straight. Kirkuk is an Iraqi city. It is not a Kurdish City no matter how much time and money Kurds will invest in changing history and demographics (by the way, they are doing more than what Saddam did and we thought we had the worst!). If they want to live in peace with the other constituents of the Iraqi people in Kirkuk, then they are welcomed. If they don't, then go North! I believe the current Kurdish leadership (although being smart in most of the cases) are very short sighted for dealing with the rest of Iraq the way they did so far. Iraqis will never forget how they were treated by Kurds in times on need (compared to Syria and Jordan)and they will surely make sure that they "return the favor" in the right time. And as we say in Arabic لايصح الا الصحيح.

Just a story to endorse the facts on the ground, a relative of mine was forced from his house in Saydiyah-Baghdad (he is a Sunni but his Wife is Shiite) so he went to live with some other relatives in a small village in Diyala. To his misfortune, Shiite villages around them attacked this village who have a Sunni majority, so the poor guy took his family to another group of relative who happen to live in one of the villages close to Kirkuk (distant relatives but in times of crisis, people will do whatever it takes) but he was stopped by the Kurdish Pesmerga send him back cause he does not have a "Kurdish sponsor"! What a shame! Syria and Jordan did not ask for Sponsors when hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi families fled their country seeking refuge from their troubled regions but Kurds whom are supposed to be Iraqis and take 17% of the oil revenues are not ready to do so. They will say, we are doing so cause we are concerned about security, well how about Syria and Jordan? are not they also concerned but at least they were ready to take the risk unlike our Kurd brothers cause they (the Kurds) don't give a sh*t about Iraq. I wish the Iraqi Arab politicians wake up to this and realize that Kurds will always be disloyal to them and start thinking and acting accordingly otherwise the Kurds will have Iraq's cake and eat it too.

nice subject. but in the end this question will be defined by the US interests, just like in the balkans. any idea about the US position on this?

October 19, 2007 at 10:44 PM

No worries madam
we are going to deal with the issue without your IRAQI GOVERNMENT because you cant even sort out you (shia-sunni, militia, mullah, sadr, badr………)how on earth could help poor kurds.
Why kurds hate Arabs??? Why don’t you go and read some history see what have your Arab politician and government in IRAQ and Syria done to us!!!! Destroying 4500 villages, killing 182,ooo innocent people in 3 year Anfal campaign, killing 500 thousand people of our babies, ladies in an hour by chemical gass, rapping our sisters and ladies, killing our men….in YOUR PARENTS IRAQ. ,,,lol,!! as u call it.
WHY WHY WHY!!!!!!!!!?????
Well iraq was paradise for you in that time because all of you had nice houses going to private schools and universities while we were forced to study in Arabic schools not even in our mother languages! and all of those above were happening to us.
There were not a single Arab in the world could ask WHY,WHY.. we do this??? to this poor people ARENT they human like us, have lived in this place for several 1000 years!!!!
well not even you weren’t around to save us!!……….
We don’t hate every Arab we hate those who did all of those nasty things to us and will HATE them forever…
Why are we always wanted independence?????? Its very simple you already answered the question because we are SOOOOOO different in cultures, language, history, religion, …… and we are called KURDS and KURDISTANY not Arab, turkish or Persian.

How could you explain 40 million people on earth can not have a country to live!could you get your Einstein to solve this!?????
I agree with you, we do have two faces people but NOT all of us, the politicians who are seeking help from you..What a joke seek help from where and whom….
Kirkuk, WHY are you so sensitive about it, go back for yhe 1920th surveys in kirkuk which was done by your British friends in that time who gave u a Piece of our land and called it Iraq and see it for yourself!!! More then 75% of the people were kurds in kirkuk.. ohh I think we don’t have that excuse any more cause you were always saying we wanted Kirkuk for the oil but we have now more then enough oil in the other areas of Arbil, Garmien, Shewashock…..etc.

I cant be asked to explain more things such as Peshmarga and other things because u already have all the answers and don’t wanna hear them..
And one more last thing, there are more then 500,000 iraqi Arab lives in Our areas and all of them have not been sponsored by Kurds!! and we have only three cities!obviously can not take 6 million Iraqi IN, as you know better then us.

Neurotica, I think it't sad that the people who finally managed to let you display yourself to the world as a sectarian were not the killers, or the suicide bombers, but the people from the most peaceful region in Iraq. You have never before displayed hatred for an entire culture. You say 'the Kurds never liked us Arabs'. What a weak excuse to hate them. How do you know they never liked you? Were there no Kurds in that beloved neighbourhood you grew up in? A rich neighbourhood I suppose, because your parents had the means to leave their beloved country. Why did they leave anyway? Did the Kurds drive them away? Or your fellow Arabs? The Kurds did not flee. The fought and preferred to die for their country and their freedom.

Look, neurotica, this is what you get for spreading hate and intolerance on your blog.

Because they're unifying the Arab world and reducing labels and waste. Because Hussein wasn't stupid, unfairly it wasn't his people that double crossed him. It was Death and Rebirth. Because someday subversion will not be necessary. Because I'm really fucking angry with the procurers of short term memory and unstructured long term renewal. Because Castor Oil is still the anecdote for Idiosyncratic routines. Because people don't know how to be fair without anesthetics and victimization. Because conservation was the ability for the western world to continuously use the primitive worlds resources until we finally moved the Dynasty of Iraq into a productive phase of Arab renewal and unification. Saddam Lennon Imagine Yesterday, dead Disney. We sold you Jurassic Park because the burden of not masturbating was too great. They'll Unify Arabia like America and the other hysterica Europe. Then again the despondent Leaders promoted decay as a connection into the fall of murdered North American rarity and Global Hegemony on acts in Europe and India. We left Iraq in the dismal dust so as to sever our ability to be hypocrites like the brown people we enslaved as use in our new snap-on workforce. Dust being the state where we wait on the Unification of Earth (Doritos snacks) and make Iraq do stuff on itself in honor of the birthing region of our bloodiest lines in transcendent masturbatory love loss. Cause we forgot Iraq in succession with equal upbringing as unity is fit for a later, we got people to burn unless cyclical migration isn't gay fucking communism. The path without labels was important. We just had to have color coordinated epochs to prove our existence outside of actually existing truth without all the extra drugs cause we already had really good drugs I might add, anyway. Aram and anon. I have nothing against the Kurdish people. As I said in my post, I have so much respect for them, but at the same time, they have to decide whether they want to be part of Iraq or NOT. Listen, my uncle is married to an amazing kurdish woman, hence my first cousins are half kurdish. But the Northern region has to decide, they either unite with us, or thats it, theyre independent. But dont come crawling back asking for privelages whenevr you feel like it. Thats the point Im trying to make.

Salaamalaykum NIW,
I didn't get it on the last post so my admitting that should serve as a "Yes, I know, and I'm embarassed." lol. I respect a people's right to self-determination but they cannot ask for help from the very nation they wish to secede from. What a quandry.
I know that this forum is about Iraq and it's the main reason I read NIW's blog but as we all know, all things are connected. Israel is getting a free pass at this moment. The people are being run over and robbed and all anyone seems to talk about(at least in my country, US) is Hillary and Barak and Rudy and the endless reference to Sept. 11th. Settlements are being built as we speak just as permanent US bases are being built as we speak ALL ON ARAB LAND. This is sometimes being done with full cooperation of the governments of these nations. Justice needs to be spread by word of mouth and conscience.
NIW, all citizens and even observers of Iraq know there is a genuine lack of unity. So what is the End Game?
Much love and respect to you NIW.

The Kurds are being used by the Americans for the ultimate goal of Balkanising Iraq.
United Iraqi stands, divided, it is falling.

October 21, 2007 at 6:14 AM

Aram,
A couple of pointers in response to your posting for everybody's benefit;

1-Anfal was Saddam's response to Kurdish betrayal (again!
). Kurds shot thousands of Iraqi Army troops in the back when the army was fighting the Iranians so what do you expect from Saddam, Duh! Saddam had better things to do at the time than kicking the sh*t out of Kurds but he had to do it for the abovementioned reason. Not defending him here but I kind of see where he was coming from but of course, Kurds will never admit it and played/are playing the victim role for which they are so good at.

Did the kurds fight in the Iraqi army? NO THEY DID NOT. In fact, Saddam was paying your Peshmerga (he called them Al Fursan at the time, remember?) just to keep them quiet while the Arab Iraqis fought the 8 years war and Kurds in fact paid handsomely by Saddam just to keep quite during the war but they could not even do that so after some time they raised the ceiling of their monetary claims or else and when Saddam refused to pay more as he did not want to be subjected to extortion I suppose, You shot the Iraqi army in the back for which Saddam retaliated with Al Anfals. Al Anfals was not unprovoked as kurds claim, they were a retaliation. This is not to defend Saddam but it is the truth. The truth that Kurds try to hide and instead play the role of the victim cause that's what they do best.

2-It would be interesting to see how you can deal with this one on your won. Turks will walk all over you should they decide so and you know it. Peshmerga or Peshtimman can't stand a chance body, suck it up.

3-It is interesting that you mention the horrible acts of the central governments in Iraq and Syria has done to the kurds. You have not mentioned Turkey doing so while your regional government has been persistently providing unlimited support and shelter to Kurdish rebels in Turkey. Another reason why Turkey has all the right to do what they see fit.

Also, you mentioned that these governments actions include "Destroying 4500 villages, killing 182,ooo innocent people in 3 year Anfal campaign, killing 500 thousand people of our babies, ladies in an hour by chemical gass, rapping our sisters and ladies, killing our men". WOW! this is exactly what I'm talking about. The endless lies and exaggeration of numbers and facts. Dude, if the US is stupid enough to believe those lies, don't expect the rest of the world to do the same. I know it has worked for you in the past but "you can't fool all the peole all the time". If Al Anfal killed 182,000 and 500,000 babies in an hour that means that you had 3 babies per every adult (men or women). So on average, every family had a father, a mother and six babies to get to the figures you mentioned which I simply another Kurdish lie.

4-You talk about Iraq was a paradise and that we were studying in private schools and universities while you were forced to study in Arabic not your mother language. I left Iraq when I was 26 years back in 1997 and I never heard of private schools! There were some new private colleges (Al Mansoor and Al Rafidayn) and these were not even universities and were actually providing very limited specializations that's all. This must be what your leaders tell you to keep you pumped. Better get your facts right.

5-Not a single Arab Iraqi is living in Kurdistan without a Kurdish sponsor. Everybody knows that so please save us the pain.

I will leave it at this, Einstein!

The Kurds are being used by the Americans for the ultimate goal of Balkanising Iraq.
United Iraqi stands, divided, it is falling.

I MISSED SOMETHING>>>COULD YOU ONE MORE TIME EXPLAIN WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM IS?

The Iranian nuclear program was launched in the 1950s. Iran's current facilities includes several research reactors, a uranium mine, an almost complete commercial nuclear reactor, and uranium processing facilities that include a uranium enrichment plant. The Iranian Space Agency launched its first reconnaissance satellite named Sina-1 in 2006, and a "space rocket" in 2007,[116] which aimed at improving science and research for university students.[117]

Iran is now a world leader in theoretical disciplines, such as string theory

String theory is a model of fundamental physics, whose building blocks are one-dimensional extended objects called strings, rather than the zero-dimensional point particles that form the basis for the standard model of particle physics. The phrase is often used as shorthand for Superstring theory, as well as related theories such as M-theory. By replacing the point-like particles with strings, an apparently consistent quantum theory of gravity emerges. Moreover, it may be possible to "unify" the known natural forces (gravitational, electromagnetic, weak nuclear and strong nuclear) by describing them with the same set of equations, as described in the Theory of everything.

A tracking system locates the missile's target. This can be either a human gunner aiming a sight on the target (remotely from the missile) or an automatic tracker. Automatic trackers use radiation emanating from the target or emitted from the launch platform and reflecting back to it from the target. Passive automatic trackers use the target's inherent radiation, usually heat or light, but missiles designed to attack Command & Control posts, aircraft or guided missiles may look for radio waves. Active automatic trackers rely on the target being illuminated by radiation. The target can be "painted" with light (sometimes infrared and/or laser) or radio waves (radar) which can be detected by the missile. The radiation for the painting can originate in the missile itself or may come from a remote station (for example, a hilltop gunner can illuminate a target with a laser device and this can be used to direct an air launched guided missile).

n China, the term "yǔhángyuán" (宇航员) or "hángtiānyuán" (航天员) has long been used for astronauts. The phrase "tàikōng rén" (太空人, literally "space person") is often used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The term taikonaut is often used by Western news media for professional space travelers from China. The origin of the term is unclear; as early as May 1998, Chiew Lee Yih (赵里昱) from Malaysia, used it in newsgroups, while Chen Lan, almost simultaneously, used it in Western media.[citation needed] Official English texts issued by the Chinese government use astronaut while texts in Russian use cosmonaut.

By convention, an astronaut employed by the Russian Aviation and Space Agency (or its Soviet predecessor) is called a cosmonaut in English texts.[13] The word is an anglicisation of the Russian word космонавт (transliteration: kosmonavt, IPA [kəsmʌˈnaft]), which in turn derives from the Greek words kosmos (universe) and nautes (sailor). For the most part, "cosmonaut" and "astronaut" are synonyms in all languages, and the usage of choice is often dictated by political reasons.

The Red Army (Russian: Рабоче-Крестьянская Красная Армия, Raboche-Krest'yanskaya Krasnaya Armiya; RKKA, full translation Workers' and Peasants' Red Army) were the armed forces first organized by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War in 1918 and that, in 1922, became the army of the Soviet Union.

Balkanization is a geopolitical term originally used to describe the process of fragmentation or division of a region or state into smaller regions or states that are often hostile or non-cooperative with each other[1][2]. The term has arisen from the conflicts in the 20th century Balkans. The first balkanization was embodied in the Balkan Wars, and the term was reaffirmed in the Yugoslav wars.

The Kurds are an ethnic group who are indigenous to a region often referred to as Kurdistan, an area which includes adjacent parts of Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. Kurdish communities can also be found in Lebanon, Armenia, Azerbaijan (Kalbajar and Lachin, to the west of Nagorno Karabakh) and, in recent decades, some European countries and the United States (see Kurdish diaspora). Ethnically related to other Iranian peoples,[12] they speak Kurdish, an Indo-European language of the Iranian branch. However, the Kurds' ethnic origins are uncertain.[13] According to Encyclopedia Columbia, Kurds are commonly identified with the ancient Corduene which was in turn inhabited by the Carduchi.[14]

Corduene (also known as Gorduene, Cordyene, Cardyene, Carduene, Gordyene, Gordyaea, Korduene, Korchayk and Girdiyan) was an ancient region located in northern Mesopotamia. For most of its history, it was a province of the Roman Empire. Corduene was situated to the east of Tigranocerta[1] (i.e., to the east and south of present-day Diyarbakır in southeastern Turkey) and northeast of Hakkari.[2] According to the Britannica, Gordyene is the ancient name for the region of Bohtan (Şırnak Province).[3] It is mentioned as Beth Qardu in Syriac sources and is described as a small vassal state between Armenia and Persia in the mountainous area south of Lake Van in modern Turkey[4] Corduene was a fertile and friendly province, which acknowledged the sovereignty of Rome[5] It has been cited as a Kingdom to the east of the Tigris and as the country of the Carduchians (now Bohtan), a mountainous district, rich in pasturage, south of Armenia[

How about reading a real blog from someone who does not enjoy the democracy of the GZ.

We live in an apartment building where two other Iraqis are renting. The people in the floor above us are a Christian family from northern Iraq who got chased out of their village by Peshmerga and the family on our floor is a Kurdish family who lost their home in Baghdad to militias and were waiting for immigration to Sweden or Switzerland or some such European refugee haven.

The first evening we arrived, exhausted, dragging suitcases behind us, morale a little bit bruised, the Kurdish family sent over their representative – a 9 year old boy missing two front teeth, holding a lopsided cake, “We’re Abu Mohammed’s house- across from you- mama says if you need anything, just ask- this is our number. Abu Dalia’s family live upstairs, this is their number. We’re all Iraqi too... Welcome to the building.”

I cried that night because for the first time in a long time, so far away from home, I felt the unity that had been stolen from us in 2003.

NIW,
Hi. Stopping by once in a while, I always enjoy your posts. You are in a far better position than me to see what's going on Iraq, especially with the Kurds but your statement rang true, "Someone has to say it. Someone has to say the truth." Now, I don't know what the truth is with regards to Iraq but I'll take your word for it. The truth is never easy to speak (no matter about what subject). Thanks for speaking what you feel is the truth. Take care!

You wanna fuck or do you want to understand what the fuck is going on?

October 24, 2007 at 1:24 AM

It's true Neurotica. Arabs bicker, blow each other up,and blame everything on someone else. Why wouldn't Kurds want more Arabs inside their peaceful borders? Of course, they don't really expect the incompetent Iraqi government to actually do anything(who really does?),but they have to appear to give a shiite what happens to the PKK. When Turkey actually does invade, will anyone even notice? I doubt it. The area they want to clear almost uninhabitable.

I was trying grab an early morning news on BBC and find out if my young beautiful newly established country has been violated by Turks and look where I end up, damn BBC, how stupid of them publishing a link to this blog.
But I tell you what though, I am really impressed that Arabs can really use internet, which is some fucking achievement for them, Hallelujah.

what the hell are you doing here anyway passing all these pathetic comments, why don’t you stick to what Arabs are good at, like growing a beard, getting married to 3rd or may be 4th wife if you are luck, blow up your self and kill some innocent people or throw stones at the Israeli tanks or sell salt at the desert; you know these are the kind of thing you should do not be here, you in the wrong place..
and you know what guys seriously, if you don’t get right in 1400 years, how the hell is your next generation going to get right, God even made it easy for you to get it right by sending KORAN in Arabic where it say ( Inna Anznala Korrana Harabian Lahalkum Tahkilun and Al- Ahrabu Ashadan Kufran wa Nifakan) for those that don’t understand Arabic these messages mean ( I published Koran in Arabic so those stupid Arabs MAY BE able to learn a little bit and Arabs are the ultimate of INGRATE and MALICIOUS) God said it; not me Ok, and When your Stupid Mullas are telling you to go kill each other, what the hell are we suppose to do, don’t do it and when you do listen to them stop blaming us for your fucking act.
By the way Iraqi wife stop turning your own personal issue into a big political one, Your HUBBY doesn’t fuck you what hell you want from us, go get laid else where and chill out if that not possible then give your number out, there must be some desperate man out there like you who is willing to fuck for free.
Now and finally be a good girl and don’t delete my comment OK, I am just trying to help

How is mossad you turd?

AND:

Besides why should you, we massacred you, didnt we??? What a fool...

On behalf of the civilised world, go to hell. You're no better than the rotting corpse of Saddam himself.

And you people wonder why the rest of the world (not just the Kurds) looks at Iraqis and thinks what they do? It disgusts me that American, British, and other coalition lives (as well as the lives of innocent Iraqis and Kurds) have been lost while trying to make Iraq a peaceful place for you sick, bloodthirsty bigots. You want unity? Bollocks! Your words scream sectarianism, and that is precisely what is keeping coalition forces there and what makes the Kurds want no part of Iraq. Your bigotry plays right into the hands of those who would kill you just as soon as they'd kill your enemies for the sole purpose of gaining power over you (i.e. Iranians).

Go to hell.

counting years for his five and ten growing old in a lonely Hell round the yard in a lousy cell from wall to wall and back again -SHane

I come old friend from hell tonight
Across the rotting sea
Nor the nails of the cross
Nor the blood of christ
Can bring you help this eve
The dead have come to claim a debt from thee
They stand outside your door
Four score and three
Did you keep a watch for the dead mans wind
Did you see the woman with the comb in her hand
Wailing away on the wall on the strand
As you danced to the turkish song of the damned - Shane

Manned a bottle of smoke.

FEIGNING SLEEP (TO ONESELF)

I fear to open up my eyes
Although I am awake--
If I could kind of hypnotize
Myself so as to make
The problem disappear
Then I would have no fear.

It lies so vast beyond my scope
To solve, and if I may
Accept conditions like a dope
Much worse, so I would say,
Than I have had before
´Twill trouble me no more.

Not all of this owes itself to
The present war now waged
Off in Iraq, the climate due
A people disengaged
From its reality
In sweet totality--

But if the war were not occurring,
The occupation ended,
My countrymen done with their blurring
Of facts and fictions, then did
A resolution stand
A chance, not out of hand.

The crisis looms and I deny
By scrunching closed my eyes,
Because I know, not do or die
Can help me realize
Solution how to rig--
The problem seems so big.
